Connects one RS-232 serial device to a 10/100 Ethernet LAN via DB9 male with multiple operation modes including Real COM, TCP and UDP
The Moxa NPort 5110 connects a single RS-232 device to a 10/100 Ethernet network through a DB9 male connector. It targets engineers who need to make legacy serial equipment reachable over IP without replacing the device itself.
The 10/100 interface limits total bandwidth to 100 Mbps, so sustained serial traffic cannot exceed that ceiling. Latency and jitter depend on the local network load and switch quality rather than the device server alone.
The serial port supports 110 bps to 230.4 kbps with configurable data bits, stop bits and parity. If the attached instrument requires a higher line speed this unit will not meet the requirement.

The NPort 5110 provides one DB9 male RS-232 port. Choose it when you need to network a single serial device; add more units or a multi-port model for additional ports.
It sets the maximum serial data speed between the device server and your RS-232 equipment, supporting rates from 110 bps up to 230.4 kbps with configurable stop bits and parity.
The 10/100 Mbps LAN interface caps network throughput, so serial-to-Ethernet traffic cannot exceed 100 Mbps even if the serial side runs at 230.4 kbps.
