Codex R2 Gaming Desktop with i5-14400F

The MSI Codex R2 is a gaming desktop built around an Intel Core i5-14400F processor with 10 cores and 16 threads. It ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 SSD. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 8GB of GDDR7 graphics handles modern titles. The system includes a 650W 80+ Gold power supply, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, Windows 11 Home, and a matching keyboard and mouse.

Who This Suits and Who Should Look Elsewhere

This PC suits gamers who want a complete, ready-to-play system with current-generation memory and storage. It also fits creators who need 32GB of DDR5 and a dedicated GPU for content tasks. Buyers who need more than 2TB of internal storage or who require a higher-wattage power supply for future multi-GPU upgrades should consider other configurations. The H610 chipset also limits overclocking headroom for enthusiasts seeking unlocked CPU tuning.

RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 Graphics Card

The single specification that decides fit is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 8GB of GDDR7 video memory. This GPU determines the resolution and quality settings the system can sustain in current and upcoming games. If your target titles demand more VRAM or higher compute performance, this graphics card will be the limiting factor. Conversely, if 8GB GDDR7 matches your workload, the rest of the platform supports it without bottleneck.

Questions about this item

What case dimensions should I check to ensure the Codex R2 fits my desk space?

The system uses the FORGE 121R mid-tower case, so measure your available width, depth and height against that chassis before placing the PC

How is the CPU cooler mounted, and which step is often missed?

The included ARGB air cooler sits on the processor with pre-applied thermal paste; the step many miss is peeling the protective film off the paste before securing the cooler

What components may need replacement down the line?

The 650W 80+ Gold power supply, ARGB cooling fans and 2TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 SSD are the parts most likely to require service or upgrade over time
