Codex R2 Gaming Desktop

The MSI Codex R2 is a tower system built around an Intel Core i5-14400F processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. It ships with 32 GB of DDR5 memory in a single module and a 1 TB NVMe solid-state drive. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed for immediate gaming use.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Four system fans, three at the front and one at the rear, work with an RGB CPU air cooler to move heat out of the chassis during long sessions. The 80+ Gold rated power supply maintains efficient delivery when the CPU and GPU run at high utilisation together. Air cooling keeps temperatures stable without liquid-loop maintenance.

NVMe Storage Limits

The 1 TB NVMe drive provides fast boot and game-load speeds within the PCIe interface used by the motherboard. Capacity is fixed at one terabyte, so large libraries will require additional drives installed by the user. No secondary storage device is included in the base configuration.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the four-fan air-cooling setup run during long gaming sessions?

The Codex R2 uses an RGB CPU air cooler plus three front fans and one rear fan to pull cool air in and push heat out.

What must I already own for this desktop to work out of the box?

The system ships with Windows 11 Home, 32 GB DDR5 memory, a 1 TB NVMe SSD and an 80+ Gold power supply, so only a display, keyboard and mouse are needed.

Can I keep using my current monitor with the RTX 5070 graphics card?

The RTX 5070 provides modern display outputs compatible with most recent monitors; check that your screen has a matching input such as DisplayPort or HDMI.
