Processor and screen

This MSI Crosshair 18 HX AI laptop pairs an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 24-core processor with an 18-inch QHD+ IPS panel running at 240 Hz and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The GeForce RTX 5070 GPU provides 8GB of GDDR7 video memory for modern titles. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and a 99-key SteelSeries RGB keyboard.

Memory and storage access

The 32GB of DDR5 5600 memory and 4TB PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe SSD are installed in standard M.2 slots reachable after removing the bottom cover. Take care when reseating the memory modules to align the notch correctly; forcing them can damage the slot. The battery connector sits near the SSD bay, so disconnect it first to avoid a short circuit.

Graphics memory capacity

The RTX 5070 Laptop GPU includes 8GB of GDDR7 video memory, which determines the texture resolution and frame-buffer headroom available in demanding games. If your workflow needs more VRAM for high-resolution assets or multi-monitor setups, this figure is the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 240 Hz panel and RTX 5070 are running correctly after setup?

Open the NVIDIA Control Panel and verify the display is set to 2560 x 1600 at 240 Hz. In the same panel, confirm the GPU shows GeForce RTX 5070 with 8 GB GDDR7. Run a benchmark or game overlay to see the 24-core Core Ultra 9 275HX and 32 GB DDR5 5600 recognised.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately?

The box contains the 18" QHD+ laptop, a 240 W power adapter, and documentation. The 32 GB DDR5 5600 memory, 4 TB NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi 6E AX211, Bluetooth 5.3, 720p webcam, 24-zone RGB keyboard, HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4, RJ-45 and Windows 11 Pro are already installed. No extra parts are required for normal use.

Which memory and storage configuration should I choose from the listed options?

This unit is the 32 GB DDR5 5600 and 4 TB NVMe configuration. The series also offers 64 GB DDR5 5600 memory and 1 TB or 2 TB NVMe drives. Pick 64 GB if you run heavy multitasking or VMs; pick 1 TB or 2 TB only if you want a lower-capacity drive and plan to add storage yourself.
