Product identity

The MSI Crosshair 18 HX AI is an 18.0 inch QHD+ gaming laptop with a 240Hz panel. It runs on an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 24-core processor reaching 5.4 GHz turbo and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory. 16GB DDR5 and a 1TB PCIe SSD complete the core specification.

Best fit and alternatives

This machine suits buyers who need a large high-refresh display and strong multi-thread performance for gaming or content work. The 24-core CPU and RTX 5070 handle modern titles at 2560 x 1600. Users wanting a smaller chassis, longer unplugged runtime or a higher GPU tier should look at other models.

Deciding specification

The 18.0 inch 240Hz QHD+ panel is the feature that determines whether this laptop matches the workflow. It delivers 2560 x 1600 resolution at high refresh without external monitors. HDMI 2.1 and two Thunderbolt ports allow additional screens when desk space permits.

Questions about this item

Will the 18 inch QHD+ 240Hz panel fit in a standard 17 inch laptop backpack?

The chassis measures 15.9 x 11.02 x 1.17 inches and weighs 6.83 pounds, so most 17 inch bags will be too small; look for an 18 inch or larger compartment.

Does the single 16GB DDR5 module leave room for a future memory upgrade?

Yes, the system ships with 16GB DDR5 and the platform supports additional modules for higher capacity.

Can the Thunderbolt 5 ports drive two external 4K monitors at 60Hz each?

Each Thunderbolt 5 port carries DisplayPort 2.1 bandwidth, so two 4K 60Hz displays are supported simultaneously.
