15.6 QHD 165Hz Gaming Laptop

The MSI Katana 15 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop with a 2560 x 1440 resolution display running at 165Hz. It is built around an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads reaching up to 5.2 GHz. The system includes 16GB of DDR5 4800 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Home and an Office 2024 license.

RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 Graphics

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU provides 8GB of GDDR7 video memory for high frame rates at QHD resolution. The 165Hz panel can display every frame the GPU produces in competitive titles. External monitors connect through the single HDMI port which limits multi-display setups to one additional screen. Three USB Type A ports and one USB Type C port handle peripherals.

16GB DDR5 4800 Memory Configuration

The laptop comes with 16GB of DDR5 4800 memory installed. This capacity and speed are fixed for the base configuration and determine whether the system meets the minimum requirements for modern games and multitasking workloads. Buyers needing more memory should verify upgrade options before purchase.

This model ships with 16 GB DDR5 4800 memory and a 2 TB PCIe SSD; both are soldered or installed by the builder, so the only choice is whether that capacity fits your workload.

What does the 5.2 GHz turbo on the i7-14650HX actually deliver in daily use?
