Katana 15 QHD 165Hz gaming laptop

The MSI Katana 15 pairs a 15.6 inch QHD panel at 165Hz with an Intel Core i7-14650HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics. It ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Home and an Office 2024 licence are pre-installed. The black chassis measures 14.13 by 10.31 by 0.99 inches and weighs 4.58 pounds.

Thermals noise and power profile

The 16-core CPU reaches 5.2 GHz turbo while the RTX 5070 laptop GPU carries 8GB of GDDR7 video memory. Under load the cooling system manages heat from both high-performance components in a slim 0.99 inch profile. Fan speed scales with combined CPU and GPU demand so acoustic output rises during intensive gaming sessions. Power draw reflects the 24-thread processor and discrete graphics working together.

RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 discrete graphics

The single specification that defines suitability is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory. It determines the rendering throughput and VRAM ceiling for modern titles at QHD resolution. Buyers targeting higher texture budgets or compute workloads should verify this VRAM capacity against their requirements. All other components scale around this graphics subsystem.
