15.6" QHD 165Hz gaming laptop

The MSI Katana 15 pairs a 15.6 inch QHD panel at 2560 x 1440 with a 165Hz refresh rate. An Intel Core i7-14650HX with 16 cores and 24 threads runs up to 5.2 GHz. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU adds 8GB GDDR7 video memory. Windows 11 Pro and an Office 2024 license are pre-installed.

Capacity and headroom

64GB DDR5 4800 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD give wide headroom for large game libraries, video projects and heavy multitasking. The 16-core processor sustains high clocks across all cores for compile workloads and streaming. The 8GB GPU frame buffer becomes the limiting factor at very high texture settings or multi-monitor 1440p gaming.

RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 graphics

The single spec that decides fit is the RTX 5070 with 8GB GDDR7. It targets high-refresh 1440p play on the built-in screen and can drive an external display over HDMI. Buyers needing more VRAM for 4K textures or professional GPU compute should look at a higher-tier GPU.
