15.6 QHD 165Hz Gaming Laptop

The MSI Katana 15 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop with a QHD display running at 165Hz. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads reaching 5.2 GHz. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory drives the graphics. The system includes 16GB DDR5 memory at 4800 and a 512GB PCIe SSD.

Best For High Refresh Competitive Play

This suit players who want a 165Hz QHD panel for fast competitive titles and the headroom of an RTX 5070 laptop GPU. The 16-core CPU handles streaming and multitasking without bottlenecking the GPU. Buyers who need a larger screen, a higher resolution panel, or more than 512GB of factory storage should look at other configurations.

Deciding Spec 8GB GDDR7 Video Memory

The RTX 5070 ships with 8GB of GDDR7 video memory. That frame buffer size determines which texture quality settings fit comfortably at 2560 x 1440. If your workflow or favourite titles regularly exceed 8GB VRAM usage, this model will require lowered settings or a different GPU tier.
