Katana 15.6 2.5K 165Hz gaming laptop

This MSI Katana is a 15.6 inch Windows 11 Pro gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU carrying 8GB of GDDR7 memory. The 2560 x 1600 IPS panel runs at 165 Hz and supports adaptive sync. It ships with 64GB of DDR5 5600 memory and a 2TB PCIe 4.0 solid state drive.

Build integration: memory, storage and connectivity

The 64GB DDR5 5600 kit fills the laptop's maximum supported memory, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. The 2TB PCIe 4.0 drive occupies the primary boot slot and leaves any additional M.2 bays free for extra storage. A 4-zone RGB keyboard, 1080p webcam, HDMI 2.1 output, RJ-45 Gigabit LAN, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 handle input, video out and networking without external dongles.

Capacity and headroom: 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD.

The 64GB DDR5 configuration covers heavy multitasking, content creation and modern game textures without paging. The 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD holds a large game library and project files with fast load times. The RTX 5070 with 8GB GDDR7 drives the 165 Hz QHD panel in demanding titles, while DLSS and ray tracing features extend visual fidelity. Memory headroom ends at the 64GB ceiling; storage expands only through secondary slots.
