15.6" 144Hz FHD Gaming Laptop

The MSI Katana 15 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop with a 1920 x 1080 IPS display running at 144 Hz. It runs on an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads. Graphics are handled by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 memory. The system includes 16 GB DDR5 RAM and a 512 GB NVMe SSD with Windows 11 Home.

Competitive gamers and creators needing high

This laptop suits players who want a 144 Hz panel and a modern 16-core CPU for fast-paced titles. It also fits users who need 16 GB DDR5 memory and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity for low-latency online sessions. Buyers requiring a higher resolution screen, more than 512 GB of storage, or a GPU above the RTX 5050 tier should consider other models.

RTX 5050 with 8 GB GDDR7 video memory

The single specification that decides fit is the GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 memory. This combination determines the graphical ceiling for 2026 titles and DLSS 4 support. If your workload demands more video memory or a higher GPU tier, this is not the right part.

Questions about this item

Will the 144 Hz panel and Wi-Fi 6E work with my older external monitor and router?

The 15.6 inch 144 Hz IPS display outputs 1920 x 1080 resolution over HDMI for older monitors, while the Wi-Fi 6E module remains compatible with earlier Wi-Fi standards.

How can I confirm the i7-14650HX and RTX 5050 are performing as expected after setup?

Open Task Manager to verify 16 cores and 24 threads on the Intel Core i7-14650HX, then check GPU-Z or NVIDIA Control Panel for the RTX 5050 name and 8 GB GDDR7 memory.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately for memory or storage upgrades?

The laptop, power adapter and Windows 11 Home are included; the 16 GB DDR5 and 512 GB NVMe SSD are already installed, so any extra DDR5 SODIMM or NVMe drive would be a separate purchase.
