15.6-inch 144Hz FHD gaming laptop

The MSI Katana A15 pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS 8-core processor with a GeForce RTX 4070 8GB GDDR6 GPU. It ships with 32GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. The 15.6-inch display runs at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Windows 11 Pro and an Office 2024 licence are pre-installed.

Upgrade-ready chassis opened by engineers

The factory seal is opened by engineers to install the specified RAM and SSD before shipment. This means the laptop arrives with the upgraded configuration already tested. The original 1-year manufacturer warranty covers remaining components, while the upgraded parts carry a separate 1-year warranty. No user disassembly is required to reach the advertised specification.

Check power and peripheral needs

The system includes a 14.05 x 10.2 x 1 inch chassis weighing 5 pounds. Ports provided are two USB 3.2 Type-A, one USB 2.0, one USB 3.2 Type-C, HDMI, RJ-45 Ethernet and a headset combo jack. There is no SD card reader. Verify that your docking station, external displays and power adapters match these connections before ordering.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 144Hz panel is active after setup?

Open Windows display settings and verify the refresh rate is set to 144 Hz; the FHD 1920 x 1080 screen will then show the intended smooth motion.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately?

The laptop, power adapter and documentation are included; no SD card reader is built in, so a USB card reader is needed for memory cards.

Which GPU version should I choose for this Katana A15?

This model comes with the GeForce RTX 4070 8GB GDDR6 as the only graphics option; select it for 1440p-capable gaming on the 15.6" display.
