AM5 platform for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series

The MSI MAG X870E GAMING MAX WIFI is an ATX motherboard built around the AMD X870E chipset and AM5 socket. It accepts Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors and provides four DDR5 slots rated up to 8200 MT/s when overclocked. A 64MB BIOS ROM improves long-term CPU compatibility.

One PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, three M.2 slots and USB4

A single PCI Express 5.0 x16 slot handles the graphics card, while a PCIe 4.0 x4 and a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot cover add-in cards. Storage uses one M.2 Gen5 x4 slot at 128 Gbps and two M.2 Gen4 x4 slots at 64 Gbps. Rear I/O includes USB4, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, HDMI, 5 Gbps LAN, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

VRM heatsinks and M.2 shields manage heat

Extended heatsinks on the voltage-regulator modules and dedicated M.2 Shield Frozr II covers keep component temperatures in check during sustained loads. The board draws power through standard ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors, allowing the OC Engine clock generator to push the CPU without excessive noise from the chassis fans.
