Supports AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER processors with four-channel DDR4 up to 128GB and 3600MHz OC, four PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, 7.1 audio, and dual Intel I211 LAN
This MSI MEG X399 CREATION motherboard accepts AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER processors on Socket TR4. The AMD X399 chipset enables four-channel DDR4 memory up to 128GB with overclocked speeds reaching 3600MHz. Four PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 2.0 x1 slot provide extensive expansion for graphics, storage and compute cards. Dual Intel I211 Gigabit LAN and Realtek ALC1220 7.1 audio complete a platform aimed at content-creation and workstation builds.
The board follows the E-ATX form factor so verify that your case supports this larger footprint before installation. Align the supplied I/O back panel, seat the CPU carefully in the TR4 socket and lock the retention mechanism evenly to avoid bent pins. Populate all four DDR4 slots for full quad-channel bandwidth. Connect the 8-pin and 4-pin EPS power headers; missing the secondary connector is a common oversight that prevents post. Route the front-panel headers using the included manual diagram.
Check that your CPU cooler mounting hardware lists TR4 compatibility and that its physical dimensions leave room for the VRM heatsinks. Ensure the power supply provides both EPS connectors required by the board. Verify that your memory kit appears on the MSI qualified-vendor list for the listed DDR4 frequencies. The package supplies the motherboard, a CMOS battery, one SATA cable and the I/O shield only; no additional brackets or Wi-Fi antenna are included.
