16 GB Radeon RX 6800 graphics card

The MSI Radeon RX 6800 Gaming X Trio 16G delivers 16 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit interface for 1440p and 4K gaming workloads. It connects through a PCI Express 4.0 slot and draws power from two 8-pin connectors. The card targets enthusiasts who need high frame rates at 7680 x 4320 maximum resolution.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous load the triple-fan cooler keeps the GPU near its 16000 MHz memory frequency without throttling. The 16 GB frame buffer absorbs large texture pools so the core can maintain steady throughput in extended sessions. Power delivery across two 8-pin connectors supports stable voltage during long renders or gaming marathons.

PCI Express 4.0 interface limits

The PCI Express 4.0 x16 link provides enough bandwidth for the 256-bit memory subsystem at 16000 MHz. At 7680 x 4320 the interface does not become a bottleneck for typical gaming or compute tasks. Systems limited to PCI Express 3.0 will see a small reduction in peak transfer rates but remain fully functional.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the MSI Radeon RX 6800 Gaming X Trio 16G get when running all day?

The card uses a triple-fan cooler on a 256-bit GDDR6 design with two 8-pin power connectors, so sustained loads stay within typical thermal limits for this class.

What power supply cables must I already have for the MSI Radeon RX 6800 Gaming X Trio 16G?

You need a PSU that can deliver two separate 8-pin PCIe power connectors to match the card's dual 8pin requirement.

Will the MSI Radeon RX 6800 Gaming X Trio 16G work in my older PCI Express 3.0 motherboard slot?

Yes, the PCI Express 4.0 interface is backward compatible, so the card will run at PCIe 3.0 speeds in an older slot.
