Ready-to-game 18-inch workstation

The MSI Raider A18 HX A9WIG-082US is an 18-inch gaming laptop built on a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5080 GPU with 16 GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, 96 GB of DDR5 5600 memory in dual channel, and 8 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage across two 4 TB drives. The system arrives pre-tested with Gelid GC Extreme thermal compound applied to the CPU and GPU.

18-inch UHD+ Mini LED 120Hz panel

The display measures 18 inches diagonally and runs at a 3840 x 2400 UHD+ resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Mini LED backlighting provides high contrast and bright highlights for creative work and HDR content. The 120 Hz scan rate keeps motion clear during fast gaming without requiring external monitors.

Pre-applied thermal paste and validated build

HIDevolution applies Gelid GC Extreme compound to both processor dies before shipment, reducing the chance of thermal throttling under load. Every unit passes a burn-in stress test, BIOS and driver updates, keyboard, touchpad, port and display checks, and a physical chassis inspection. The laptop weighs 7.94 lbs and measures 15.91 x 12.09 x 1.26 inches, so confirm your bag or workspace can accommodate it.

Questions about this item

How does the 5.4 GHz max turbo on the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D translate to sustained gaming performance?

The 16-core processor with 128 MB L3 cache and 3D V-Cache technology maintains high clocks under load, while the Gelid GC Extreme thermal compound upgrade applied during the build helps reduce temperatures and limit throttling during extended sessions.

What display interface does the 18" UHD+ 120Hz Mini LED panel use and what bandwidth ceiling does it impose?

The internal panel runs at 3840 x 2400 resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate, driven directly by the RTX 5080 laptop GPU; the Mini LED backlight delivers high contrast without changing the signal bandwidth required from the graphics chip.

Will the 15.91 x 12.09 x 1.26 inch chassis fit in a standard 18-inch laptop sleeve or backpack compartment?

At those dimensions and 7.94 lbs, the Raider A18 HX matches typical 18-class gaming laptop footprints, so sleeves or compartments labelled for 18-inch devices should accommodate it, though the 1.26-inch thickness is on the slimmer side for this class.
