Thin 15 15.6-inch 144Hz gaming laptop

The MSI Thin 15 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a 144Hz Full HD display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-13420H processor with 8 cores and 12 threads. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6GB GPU handles graphics. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

64GB DDR5 memory and 2TB PCIe SSD

The system ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD. That capacity handles modern games, heavy multitasking and large media libraries. The 6GB of video memory limits texture quality at the highest settings. Storage and memory are not user-expandable beyond the factory configuration.

RTX 4050 6GB GPU with HDMI 4K 30Hz

The GeForce RTX 4050 6GB is the single specification that defines gaming capability. It drives the internal 144Hz panel and external displays through HDMI at 4K 30Hz. Buyers needing higher external refresh rates or more video memory should consider a different GPU tier.

Questions about this item

Can I connect my older USB-A 3.0 mouse and keyboard to the three USB-A 3.2 ports on this laptop?

Yes, the three USB-A 3.2 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices, so your existing mouse and keyboard will work without adapters.

How can I verify the 144 Hz panel and RTX 4050 6GB are running at their rated speeds after setup?

Open the NVIDIA Control Panel to confirm the GPU shows RTX 4050 with 6 GB VRAM, then check Windows Display settings — Advanced display — to see 144 Hz selected for the 15.6" 1920 x 1080 screen.

Does the box include the Auth USB-C Hub mentioned in the highlights, or do I need to buy it separately?

The Auth USB-C Hub is listed as a premium feature of the laptop itself; the package contains the MSI Thin 15 unit, its power adapter and standard documentation — no separate hub purchase is required.
