Thin 15 gaming laptop 15.6 144Hz

The MSI Thin 15 is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop with a 1920 x 1080 display running at 144 Hz. It uses an Intel Core i7 13th Gen processor with 10 cores and a 4.9 GHz turbo frequency. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 with 6GB GDDR6 handles graphics. The system includes 32GB DDR5 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Pro and Office 2024 License are pre-installed.

Best for mobile 1080p gaming no fingerprint

This configuration suits buyers who want a portable 4.1 pound gray chassis with a 144 Hz panel for fast-paced 1080p gaming. The 10 core CPU and 32GB RAM also support content creation and multitasking. Users who need a fingerprint reader or a larger display should look at other models. The 0.85 inch profile fits slim backpacks.

Deciding spec RTX 4050 6GB GDDR6

The single specification that determines fit is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU with 6GB GDDR6 video memory. It defines the 1080p gaming tier and the creative workload ceiling for this chassis. If the target workload needs more graphics memory or a higher GPU tier, a different laptop is required. The 4TB PCIe SSD and 32GB DDR5 are fixed in this build.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the MSI Thin 15 get when the Intel Core i7-13620H and RTX 4050 run all day?

The 10-core Intel Core i7-13620H reaches 4.9 GHz turbo and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6GB GDDR6 handles sustained loads; fan noise and surface temperature rise under continuous gaming but stay within the thermal design of the 0.85-inch chassis.

What cables and peripherals must I already own to use the MSI Thin 15 ports right away?

The laptop provides 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C with DisplayPort, 3 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, 1 HDMI 2.1, 1 RJ-45 LAN jack and a headphone/microphone combo jack — bring the matching cables and any external monitor, wired network or headset you plan to use.

Will the RTX 4050 6GB and Wi-Fi 6E AX211 work smoothly with my older USB 3.0 drives and 1080p monitors?

Yes — the three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports run at 5 Gbps and are backward compatible with USB 3.0 devices, while HDMI 2.1 drives 1080p displays at up to 144 Hz; Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.3 also interoperate with earlier Wi-Fi and Bluetooth gear.
