Thin 15 Raider Black gaming laptop

The MSI Thin 15 Raider Black is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra i7 13620H processor with ten cores and sixteen threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU carrying six gigabytes of video memory. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR5 memory and a 512-gigabyte PCIe SSD complete the core specification. Windows 11 Home ships pre-installed.

Suits 144Hz FHD competitive play.

The 144-hertz full-HD panel targets players who value high refresh rates in fast-paced titles. Content creators needing wider colour gamuts, higher resolutions or factory-calibrated screens should look elsewhere. The single 512-gigabyte drive may also limit users with large media libraries unless they add external storage. Buyers wanting a lighter chassis or longer unplugged runtime will need a different class of machine.

RTX 4050 6 GB GPU defines the performance envelope

The GeForce RTX 4050 with six gigabytes of dedicated video memory is the single component that determines which games run smoothly at native resolution and which settings must be lowered. It supports modern RTX features while staying within the Thin 15's thermal and power budget. If your workload demands more VRAM or higher compute throughput, this GPU is the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the MSI Thin 15 and do I need to buy anything else?

The laptop ships with the 15.6 inch 144 Hz FHD panel, Intel Core Ultra i7 13620H, RTX 4050 6 GB graphics, 16 GB DDR5 memory, 512 GB PCIe SSD, Windows 11 Home, backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, webcam, 3 USB Type-A, 1 USB Type-C, 2 HDMI, RJ45 and combo audio jacks. No extra parts are required for normal use.

Which version of the Thin 15 should I choose if the only difference is the GPU?

This model is offered with the GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU and 6 GB video memory. If you need more graphics power you would have to select a different SKU that lists a higher-tier GPU; the current configuration is fixed at the 4050.

What does the 144 Hz screen mean when I am actually gaming on this machine?

The 15.6 inch FHD display refreshes at 144 Hz, so fast-paced titles can show up to 144 frames per second. Combined with the 10-core i7 13620H and RTX 4050 6 GB, many competitive games at 1080p will reach or exceed that rate for smoother motion.
