Titan 18 HX A2WJ identity

The MSI Titan 18 HX A2WJ is an 18 inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets users who need desktop class compute and graphics in a portable chassis. The system includes 128 GB of DDR5 memory and 32 TB of PCIe NVMe Gen4 storage.

Mini LED 240Hz display limits

The 18 inch panel runs at 3840 x 2400 resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate using Mini LED backlighting. This combination delivers high pixel density and fast motion handling, though sustained brightness and contrast will vary with ambient temperature and content. The display interface is fixed to the internal panel and cannot drive an external monitor at the same native rate.

RTX 5090 24GB GDDR7 decides fit

The discrete graphics card provides 24 GB of GDDR7 video memory paired with the RTX 5090 architecture. This single specification determines whether the laptop can handle the largest textures, highest ray traced workloads and multi GPU compute tasks without paging to system memory. If your pipeline fits in 24 GB this unit is the right part.

Questions about this item

Which capacity should I choose between the 2 x 8 TB SSD configuration and other options?

The laptop ships with 32 TB of storage built from two 8 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe drives, giving the full 32 TB capacity in a dual-drive layout.

What does the 5.5 GHz turbo frequency mean when the Ultra 9 290HX Plus is under load?

The 24-core processor can reach 5.5 GHz max turbo, so heavy workloads see peak single-core speed while the Gelid GC Extreme thermal paste helps sustain higher clocks without throttling.

What does the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface cap in practice for the installed SSDs?

Each 8 TB drive runs on a PCIe 4.0 x4 link, so sequential reads and writes are limited to the Gen4 lane bandwidth rather than a newer Gen5 ceiling.
