Vector 16 HX AI for gamers and creators

The MSI Vector 16 HX AI is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor with 20 cores and a 5.2 GHz boost clock. It ships with 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a 2 TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for immediate productivity and play.

Installation notes

Memory and storage upgrades are handled through standard SO-DIMM and M.2 slots inside the chassis. The 64 GB DDR5 ceiling means a future 32 GB module pair will fit without BIOS surprises. Thunderbolt 5 ports use the USB-C form factor, so existing Type-C cables work but only certified 5070-speed cables guarantee full throughput.

RTX 5070 Ti with 12 GB GDDR7

The discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card carries 12 GB of GDDR7 video memory and drives the 1920 x 1200 IPS panel at 144 Hz. HDMI 2.1 supports 8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz external displays. This GPU specification is the single factor that determines whether the laptop meets a given rendering or gaming workload.

Questions about this item

Will the 32 GB of DDR5 memory be enough for current AAA games and heavy multitasking, or should I plan to upgrade?

The laptop ships with 32 GB of DDR5 and supports up to 64 GB, so you can add more later if your workload demands it.

Does the 16-inch 1920 x 1200 144 Hz panel support an external 4K monitor at high refresh rates?

Yes, the HDMI 2.1 port can drive a 4K display at 120 Hz, and the two Thunderbolt 5 compatible USB-C ports also carry video.

What cooling hardware keeps the Core Ultra 7 255HX and RTX 5070 Ti from throttling during long sessions?

MSI uses a shared-pipe design with Cooler Boost 5 technology to move heat away from both the CPU and GPU.
