Vector A16 16-core laptop

The MSI Vector A16 pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 12GB GDDR7 GPU in a 16.0-inch QHD+ 240Hz chassis. It ships with 32GB DDR5 4800 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD under Windows 11 Home.

Creators and competitive players

The 240Hz WQXGA panel and 12GB GDDR7 graphics suit professionals who need colour-accurate high-refresh visuals and gamers targeting smooth frame rates at 2560 x 1600. Buyers wanting a lighter ultraportable or a device with longer unplugged runtime should look elsewhere.

240Hz QHD+ display decides fit

The 16.0-inch 2560 x 1600 240Hz screen is the single spec that determines whether this Vector A16 matches the workflow; if the panel refresh or resolution does not align with the intended use, another model will fit better.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions and weight of the Vector A16 so I can check bag fit?

The chassis measures 14.05 x 11.18 x 1.12 inches and weighs 5.95 pounds, so verify your sleeve or backpack compartment against those figures before buying.

Which screws and clips must be removed to open the bottom cover for a RAM or SSD upgrade?

Remove all visible Phillips screws on the bottom panel, then pry gently from a front corner with a plastic tool; the hidden clips release toward the centre — forcing the rear edge first often snaps the fragile fan-shroud tabs.

When will the 32 GB DDR5 4800 memory or 2 TB PCIe SSD need replacement?

The soldered 32 GB DDR5 4800 cannot be upgraded, so plan on a new laptop once workloads exceed that capacity; the 2 TB PCIe SSD is user-replaceable and typically lasts five to seven years under heavy write loads before SMART warnings appear.
