18-inch QHD+ 240Hz gaming laptop

This 18-inch laptop combines a QHD+ panel at 240Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 GPU. It ships with 32GB DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Home and an Office 2021 licence are pre-installed. The chassis measures 15.91 x 12.09 x 1.26 inches and weighs 7.94 pounds.

Sustained load behaviour

The 16-core CPU runs at a 2.5 GHz base clock and can reach a 5.4 GHz turbo frequency with 64MB Smart Cache. The RTX 5080 provides 16GB GDDR7 video memory for extended compute and graphics workloads. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, plus two USB 4 ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery 3.1, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1 supporting 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz, RJ45 and an audio combo jack.

Upgrade perspective

The configuration replaces earlier 16-core mobile workstations that paired lower-refresh panels with previous-generation GPUs. The jump is worthwhile when a 240Hz 100% DCI-P3 IPS-level display, 16GB GDDR7 graphics memory and USB 4 connectivity are required for colour-critical creative work or competitive gaming. The 2TB PCIe SSD and 32GB DDR5 remove the need for immediate storage or memory expansion.
