18-inch QHD+ 240Hz gaming laptop

The MSI Vector A18 Raider is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU with 16GB GDDR7 video memory. It ships with 16GB DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD. The 2560 x 1600 IPS-level panel covers 100% DCI-P3 and runs at 240Hz. Windows 11 Home and an Office 2024 license are pre-installed.

Installation and common issues

The unit arrives with the factory seal opened by engineers for component upgrades and testing, so the original packaging will not be intact. Buyers should verify the upgraded RAM and SSD are detected in BIOS and that Windows activates correctly after the customisation process. Driver updates for the RTX 5080 and Wi-Fi 7 hardware should be applied before heavy workloads.

Connectivity and interface limits

Video output over HDMI 2.1 supports 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz. The two USB 4 ports carry DisplayPort and Power Delivery 3.1 signalling. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports provide additional peripheral bandwidth. Wired networking uses a standard RJ45 jack. Wireless uses Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4. An SD card reader is not included.
