Suited For And Not Suited For

This machine suits users who need high core counts and a large colour-accurate screen for simulation, rendering or competitive play. It does not suit buyers who need a lightweight ultraportable, a touchscreen interface or a smaller form factor for frequent travel.

Intel Core i9-13980HX And HM770 Platform

The 13th Generation Core i9-13980HX paired with the Intel HM770 chipset determines whether this platform meets your compute and connectivity requirements. This combination drives the 64 GB memory capacity and the 2 TB storage configuration for demanding workloads.

Questions about this item

Does the MSI Vector GP78 HX 13VI-294TAA need an external graphics card for the NVIDIA GPU to work?

The laptop includes the NVIDIA GPU internally, so no separate graphics card is required for it to function.

Can I connect my older HDMI 1.4 monitor to the MSI Vector GP78 HX 13VI-294TAA and still get a picture?

The HDMI port will output a signal to an HDMI 1.4 display, though the maximum resolution and refresh rate will be limited by that monitor's capabilities.

How can I verify the display is running at the native 2560 x 1440 resolution after setup?

Open Windows 11 Pro display settings and confirm the resolution slider shows 2560 x 1440 as the recommended setting.
