MTX TP1200 12" Karaoke Tower

The MTX TP1200 is a 12-inch two-way tower speaker rated at 150 watts RMS and 300 watts maximum power. It uses a ported woofer and a horn-loaded tweeter inside a durable MDF enclosure covered with aviation-grade carpet. Integrated carry handles and interlocking corner braces allow secure stacking for portable PA or karaoke setups.

Suits solo performers and small venues

Singers, DJs and presenters who need a single self-contained tower with easy-grip handles and stackable corners will find the 150-watt RMS output sufficient for intimate rooms. Buyers requiring higher continuous power, multiple driver arrays or built-in wireless microphone systems should consider other configurations.

150 watts RMS headroom for speech and vocals

At 92 dB sensitivity and 4-ohm impedance the cabinet delivers clear vocal reproduction up to moderate listening levels. The 300-watt peak rating handles short transients, but sustained high-SPL dance music or large-crowd reinforcement will exceed the thermal limits of the voice coils.

Questions about this item

Which amplifier output is required to drive the 4 Ohm impedance and 150 Watt RMS rating?

An amplifier rated for 4 Ohm loads and able to deliver around 150 watts RMS per channel will match the speaker's power handling and impedance.

Can the 12 inch woofer and 1 inch horn loaded tweeter be paired with an older passive mixer that only has 1/4 inch outputs?

Yes, the speaker provides a 1/4 inch input jack alongside 5-way binding posts, so a mixer with 1/4 inch outputs connects directly.

How can I verify the 92dB sensitivity is being achieved once the system is powered on?

Play a known reference track at a fixed volume and measure the output with an SPL meter at one metre; the reading should be close to 92dB.
