Dell KM636 / KB216 keyboard cover

A thin silicone skin cut to the standard US layout of Dell KM636 wireless and KB216 wired keyboards. It fits OptiPlex and Inspiron all-in-one models including the 24 and 27 inch 5250, 3050, 3240, 5460, 7450, 7050, 5400, 5490, 7700, 7790, 3475, 3670 and 3477. The cover adds colour while shielding keys from dust and liquid.

Installation and common issues

The skin lays directly on the keycaps with no adhesive, so alignment takes seconds. Because each key is individually moulded, the fit stays close during typing. The main mistake is ordering for a non-US layout; the product only matches the standard US arrangement shown in the reference image.

Sustained use behaviour

At 0.3 mm thickness the layer adds negligible travel change even after long sessions. The non-toxic silicone resists fading and can be removed for washing without losing shape. Waterproof and dustproof properties remain effective over time, and the material dampens keystroke noise throughout the day.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the cover fits my Dell KM636 or KB216 keyboard correctly after placing it?

Each key is specially moulded for the US layout; the cover should sit flush with no gaps and the 0.01 in thickness keeps typing feel almost unchanged.

What comes in the package and do I need any extra items to use it?

The silicone cover is the only item supplied; no additional accessories or tools are required for installation.

Which version should I choose for a Dell OptiPlex 7450 All-in-One with a US-layout KB216 wired keyboard?

This single cover fits the KB216 wired model and the KM636 wireless model on all listed OptiPlex and Inspiron desktops, provided the keyboard uses the standard US layout.
