Copper refrigeration tubing for HVAC installs
This Mueller Industries coil delivers 50 ft of 3/16 in. OD copper tubing built to ASTM B-280 for air-conditioning and refrigeration work. The 99% pure copper is annealed so it bends cleanly without kinking. Each coil ships cleaned, nitrogen-purged and sealed under yellow caps.
Replaces pre-cut lengths and soft-solder joints
Continuous 50 ft runs eliminate the leak points that come with multiple fittings and shorter sticks. The annealed temper lets technicians form tight radius bends on site instead of relying on elbows. The jump is worth it when a single unbroken line cuts brazing time and reduces potential failure spots.
Limited to 3/16 in. OD and ASTM B-280 scope
The tubing is sized for small-capacity refrigerant circuits; larger systems need bigger diameters not covered here. ASTM B-280 governs material and dehydration but does not set a working pressure, so the designer must verify ratings for the specific refrigerant and temperature range. No pressure rating is marked on the coil.

Questions about this item
What outer-diameter size does the 3/16 in. copper tubing need to fit?
The coil is manufactured to a 3/16 in. outside diameter per ASTM B-280, so it fits fittings and ferrules made for that exact OD.
How is the dehydrated refrigeration coil installed and what step is often missed?
Unroll the needed length, cut cleanly, deburr both ends, then flare each end with a flaring tool before assembling the joint; skipping the deburr step leaves metal shavings that can contaminate the system.
What maintenance or replacement will this copper tubing need later?
The 99% pure copper resists corrosion in normal refrigeration service; inspect joints periodically for leaks and replace any section that shows kinks, dents or green oxidation.
