PVC DWV Double Wye
This PVC double-wye fitting connects three 1-1/2 inch hub pipes in a drain-waste-vent system. It is intended for plumbers and contractors installing gravity-flow drainage in residential or light-commercial buildings. The white Schedule 40 PVC body meets ASTM D1784 cell-class 12454 for standard sanitary service.
Hub connection and material
The hub ends accept solvent-weld joints without separate couplings, reducing the number of fittings required for a branch. PVC construction resists corrosion from typical household waste and allows simple cutting with hand tools. The white colour matches common DWV piping for a uniform appearance.
Non-pressure temperature limit
This fitting is not rated for pressurised applications and must only be used in gravity drainage. Maximum continuous service temperature is 140 degrees F, so it is unsuitable for high-temperature discharge lines or any system that develops internal pressure.

Questions about this item
Will the Schedule 40 PVC hub connections need re-gluing or replacement over time?
The Schedule 40 PVC hubs are solvent-welded during installation; they do not require re-gluing unless the joint is damaged or leaks develop.
What temperature limit appears first when this double wye runs continuously with hot drain water?
The fitting is rated for a maximum temperature of 140 degrees F, so sustained flow above that level is the first limit reached.
How much heat does the PVC body absorb during all-day drainage use?
PVC has low thermal conductivity, so the fitting stays near the temperature of the waste water passing through it without significant heat buildup.
