6-Inch PVC Schedule 40 Coupling
This white PVC coupling joins two sections of 6-inch Schedule 40 pipe using solvent-weld socket ends. The fitting measures 3-3/4 inches overall length and is designed for gravity-flow drainage systems. It suits residential and light-commercial plumbing installations where a straight, leak-free joint is required.
Thermals Noise And Power Draw
The PVC material handles continuous fluid temperatures from -20 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit without deformation. As a passive fitting it generates no noise and draws no power during operation. Joint integrity depends on proper solvent cement application and pipe preparation.
Replaces Damaged Or Undersized Hubs
This coupling replaces a cracked, corroded or incorrectly sized hub in existing Schedule 40 drainage lines. The upgrade is worthwhile when the current joint leaks, restricts flow or fails inspection. It does not fit thin-wall sewer pipe, copper, cast iron or any non-Schedule-40 system.

Questions about this item
How is the 6 in PVC Schedule 40 coupling installed and what step is often missed?
Clean both pipe ends, apply primer then solvent cement to each socket, push fully home and hold for the recommended set time; the step often missed is using primer before cement.
What maintenance or replacement will the 6 in PVC drain trap need later?
The solvent-welded joints are permanent; replacement is only required if the pipe cracks, the seal leaks, or the system is reconfigured.
What temperature limit appears first during sustained use of the PVC coupling?
The maximum continuous operating temperature is 140 Degrees F; sustained exposure above that will soften the Schedule 40 PVC.
