Copper Type K Tubing

Mueller Industries KH06005 is straight seamless copper tubing made to ASTM B88 Type K dimensions. It measures 7/8 in outside diameter with a 0.065 in wall and runs 5 ft in length. The alloy is C12200 phosphorus-deoxidised copper supplied in hard temper. It carries NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and NSF 372 certifications for potable water contact.

Replaces thinner-wall types

Type K wall thickness exceeds Type L and Type M at the same nominal size, so it handles higher pressure and more aggressive soil conditions. The 682 psi rating at 200 Degrees F and 400 Degrees F maximum temperature cover most residential and light-commercial hot-water loops. The jump is worth it when code requires Type K or when burial, vibration or thermal cycling demand the heaviest standard wall.

Suits installers needing certified Type K

Plumbers and mechanical contractors who must meet ASTM B88 Type K for water-service, hydronic or fire-protection lines will use this length. Builders who need coiled tubing, smaller diameters or Type L wall for cost savings should look at other stock. The straight 5 ft stick also does not suit jobs requiring pre-bent runs or longer continuous coils.
