Copper sweat adapter for potable water
This straight adapter joins a 1/2 inch copper tube to a 1/2 inch male pipe thread using a sweat connection on the tube side. It is made from wrot copper and carries no centre stop, so the tube can slide fully through the fitting. The part is rated for potable water systems and is supplied new.
Replaces threaded brass or dielectric unions
When a direct copper-to-thread transition is needed, this single-piece fitting eliminates the extra nipple and coupling that a two-piece assembly requires. The jump is worth it on new rough-ins or repairs where a leak-free sweat joint and a compact profile reduce labour and potential leak paths.
Handles 722 psi at 100 degrees F
The fitting withstands a maximum operating pressure of 722 psi at 100 degrees F and a maximum operating temperature of 250 degrees F. It comfortably serves residential and light commercial hot and cold water lines. It runs out in high-pressure steam or industrial process piping that exceeds these pressure or temperature limits.
