HVAC Controls — General Purpose Duct Tape
This NASHUA 2280 duct tape is a general purpose adhesive product for assembly, manufacturing, construction, general maintenance, repair, metalworking and warehouse tasks. It is built for indoor and outdoor environments where a reliable hold is needed. The tape uses a rubber adhesive on a polyethylene coated cloth backing for strong bonding.
70 oz/in Adhesion to Steel
The single specification that decides fit is the adhesion to steel rated at 70 oz/in. This figure tells you the holding power on metal surfaces so you can judge if it matches the load and surface energy of your specific job. No clean removal time is rated, so plan for permanent or long-term application.
60 yd Continuous Roll Capacity
The continuous roll provides 60 yd of 1 7/8 in wide tape at 9 mil thickness, giving ample length for large sealing, bundling or repair projects across multiple tasks. It runs out when the roll is fully consumed, so estimate your total linear footage before starting to avoid shortages mid-job.

Questions about this item
How strong is the 70 oz/in adhesion once the tape is applied?
The 70 oz/in adhesion rating means the tape bonds firmly to steel surfaces, holding ducts and sheet metal in place during installation and long-term use.
What does the rubber adhesive on polyethylene coated cloth cap in practice?
The rubber adhesive on polyethylene coated cloth backing provides strong grab on metal and fabric, resists moisture indoors and outdoors, and tears cleanly by hand without tools.
Will a 60 yd roll that is 1-7/8 in wide fit standard dispensers and job-site storage?
The 60 yd length and 1-7/8 in width match common duct-tape dispensers and tool-bag slots, so the continuous roll feeds smoothly and stores compactly.
