Brass crescent sash lock for window repair
The National Manufacturing N148684 is a zinc die-cast crescent lock with a brass finish designed to secure double-hung window sashes. It measures 2-7/16 inches long by 1-11/16 inches high with a 7/8 inch base width and ships with mounting screws in a single bag. Homeowners and maintenance crews use it to replace worn or missing original hardware on wood or metal frames.
Sustained holding force under daily cycling
The die-cast zinc body resists deformation when the cam is engaged repeatedly through seasonal temperature changes. Brass plating protects the contact surfaces from corrosion that would otherwise increase friction and loosen the grip over time. The included screws anchor the base firmly to prevent the assembly from working loose under vibration or wind load. It is not suited for doors or heavy casement windows that require a multi-point locking system.
