A 5-port Gigabit Ethernet switch with web-managed Layer 2 features including VLAN, QoS and IGMP snooping
Configuration 5-Port Gigabit
Model GS105E
The Netgear GS105E-200NAS is a five-port Gigabit Ethernet switch built for desktop or wall-mounted use. It delivers 10/100/1000 Mbps connectivity over twisted-pair cabling up to 100 metres. Web-managed Layer 2 features include VLAN, QoS, IGMP snooping, port mirroring and spanning tree for traffic control beyond basic plug-and-play operation. A 12 V 1.0 A power adapter and mounting kit are included.
This switch fits small businesses adding VoIP phones, IP cameras or wireless access points that require traffic prioritisation and segmentation. It operates silently at 0.55 lb within a 0 to 50 °C range. Buyers needing Power over Ethernet to supply connected devices should look elsewhere, as this model provides no PoE output. Networks requiring more than five wired ports or rack-mount brackets will need a different form factor.
The decisive specification is the five 10/100/1000Base-T RJ45 ports combined with Web-managed Layer 2 software. That port count and management level determine whether the switch matches the scale and control requirements of the intended network segment.

Other versions of this model
The switch measures 3.70" x 3.94" x 1.06" and weighs 0.55 lb. A wall-mount kit is included in the package for convenient installation on a wall or flat surface.
It is powered by an included 12V, 1.0A external power adapter that plugs into the switch's DC jack. A step often missed is connecting the adapter to the switch before plugging it into the mains outlet.
The unit has no moving parts or internal batteries, so routine maintenance is limited to keeping ventilation slots clear of dust. The only user-replaceable component is the external 12V, 1.0A power adapter if it fails.
