Under continuous use the switch forwards traffic using store-and-forward switching with a 4K MAC address table and 1 MB buffer memory. IEEE 802.3x flow control and jumbo frame support help maintain throughput when multiple powered devices transmit simultaneously. The 76 W PoE budget is shared across all sixteen ports, each capable of supplying up to 30 W, so the number of active powered devices is limited by the total budget rather than per-port limits.

The steel enclosure operates without acoustic disturbance in typical office conditions. It can be placed on a desktop, mounted in a 19-inch rack or attached to a wall using the included hardware.
