24 PoE+ Gigabit ports deliver 190 W to power devices, plus two SFP uplinks and 52 Gbps non-blocking switching for SMB networks
The Netgear GS724TP-300NAS is a 26-port Gigabit smart switch designed for small to medium businesses that need to power access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones over Ethernet. It provides 24 PoE+ RJ45 ports sharing a 190W power budget plus two dedicated SFP fiber uplinks. The rack-mountable chassis includes a mounting kit and rubber footpads for desktop use. Management is handled through a web browser GUI with optional Insight cloud monitoring.
This switch fits networks where the total PoE draw stays within the 190W budget across all 24 ports. It supports IEEE 802.3at and 802.3af standards, VLAN segmentation, L2/L3/L4 ACLs and 802.1x port authentication for segmented, secure networks. Advanced per-port PoE controls allow remote power cycling and scheduling. Buyers whose devices require more than 190W combined, or who need 10G uplinks, should consider a model with a larger PoE budget or faster uplink interfaces.
The single specification that determines whether this switch fits your installation is the 190W total PoE power budget shared across the 24 RJ45 ports. Every powered device adds to that total; if the sum of your endpoints exceeds 190W, the switch cannot supply enough power. Non-blocking throughput of 52Gbps, an 800MHz ARM processor with 512MB RAM and a 1.5MB packet buffer handle forwarding, but the PoE budget remains the hard constraint for powered device deployments.

Use the supplied mounting kit to secure the 24-port PoE+ switch in a standard 19-inch rack; the step often missed is also attaching the rubber footpads if you later move it to a desktop.
The internal power supply delivering the 190W PoE budget and 228.53W total consumption is the first component likely to require replacement after extended high-load operation.
The 52Gbps non-blocking fabric ceiling is the first limit reached when every Gigabit RJ45 and SFP port is saturated simultaneously.
