The Netgear GSM4212PX-100NAS is a rackmount managed switch built for professional audio and video installations. It delivers eight 1G PoE+ ports with a 240W power budget, two extra 1G RJ45 ports, and two 10G SFP+ uplinks for high-bandwidth backbone connections. The 4250 series design places all cabling and status indicators at the rear for clean rack integration, while a second set of mounting ears allows recessed or front-port orientation.

Pre-loaded AV profiles and IGMP Plus

The embedded web interface ships with ready-made configuration profiles for Dante, Q-SYS, AES67, NVX, SVSI, NDI, Kramer, Aurora Multimedia, ZeeVee, Atlona, and SDVoE deployments. NETGEAR IGMP Plus automates multicast routing for these AV-over-IP standards without manual tuning. AVB support is available but requires a separate AVB4212PX-10000S license that is not included with the switch.

Flexible mounting and fan control

Standard or recessed rackmount ears are supplied in the box, letting installers choose front or rear port access to suit cable routing. Software-controlled fan modes include a fanless setting that disables active cooling when ambient temperature and PoE load allow silent operation. The 240W PoE budget limits the number of high-draw endpoints; plan device counts accordingly. No SFP+ transceivers are bundled, so fibre uplinks need compatible modules purchased separately.
