A 40-port 10G PoE++ switch with four 100G uplinks, 196W PoE budget and AV-tuned IGMP Plus for zero-config multicast
The Netgear M4350-40X4C delivers 40 RJ-45 ports at 10GBase-T with PoE++ support and four QSFP28 uplinks at 100G. It is built for installers and integrators deploying Dante, NDI, AES67 or SMPTE ST 2110 streams across a single managed fabric. The 1U rack-mountable chassis fits standard cabinets and also operates on a tabletop.
The unit consumes up to 750 W while reserving 196 W for powered devices such as cameras, panels or wireless access points. Intelligent fans offer a Quiet Mode to minimise acoustic output and a Cool Mode to prioritise thermal headroom, letting the same hardware adapt to studio silence or equipment-room density without external fan controllers.
Sites running 1G access with external injectors collapse cabling and power into one managed tier, gaining 10G to every endpoint and 100G uplinks for backbone capacity. The jump is worth it when multicast traffic must stay off the rest of the LAN and when Auto-LAG between multiple M4350 units removes manual trunk configuration.

Mount the 1U chassis in a standard 19-inch rack using the supplied brackets. The 15.7-inch depth requires at least that much clear space behind the front rails; installers often leave too little rear clearance for the QSFP28 cables and power cords, blocking airflow.
The internal hot-swap fans are the primary wear items; they run continuously and can be replaced without powering down the switch. The dual redundant power supplies are also field-replaceable modules should one fail after years of service.
The 196 W PoE budget caps total powered-device draw well below the 40-port theoretical maximum, so available PoE power becomes the bottleneck before uplink or backplane capacity is saturated.
