Eight 2.5G ports deliver 40Gbps switching capacity with silent fanless metal housing for Wi-Fi 6 networks
The NETGEAR ProSafe DMS-108 delivers eight 2.5 Gigabit RJ45 ports that auto-negotiate between 100Mb, 1G and 2.5G speeds. It suits homes and small offices upgrading to Wi-Fi 6 access points, 2.5G NAS units or gaming PCs. Silent fanless operation and a metal chassis keep the switch cool without noise. No configuration is required beyond plugging in cables.
A 40Gbps switching capacity and 40 gigabits_per_second forwarding rate let all eight ports run at line rate simultaneously. Jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes reduce overhead on large transfers such as 8K video or backup jobs. QoS classifies traffic into eight priority levels while flow control and IGMP snooping limit dropped packets and optimise multicast streams. The 768KB buffer absorbs bursts during heavy multi-user loads.
Eight 2.5G ports set the hard limit on how many multi-gig devices you can connect directly. Builders needing more than eight 2.5G links or requiring managed features such as VLANs or link aggregation must look elsewhere. The switch is unmanaged and supports only passive PoE, so it cannot power active PoE devices. Cat5e and Cat6 cables work for all supported speeds.

The fanless design and metal housing dissipate heat silently, while IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet reduces power draw during continuous use.
Cat5e or Cat6 cables work with auto-negotiation at 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps, so existing wiring and 2.5G-capable PCs, NAS or Wi-Fi 6 access points are all that is needed.
Yes, the switch auto-senses each port speed and applies flow control plus 8-level QoS across legacy 10/100 Mbps devices and newer 2.5G connections simultaneously.
