Questions about this item

How do I install the 19 1/4 x 10 1/4 cooking grid on my 740-0711 grill, and what step causes the most trouble?

Place the grid flat on the burner supports with the ribs facing up; the step people miss is checking that no mounting hole exists on this replacement, so do not force alignment pins.

What maintenance will this grid need after months of grilling?

Brush the rods while warm after each cook, then wipe with a light coat of cooking oil; plan to replace the grid once heavy rust or warped rods appear.

What is the first limit I will hit when running this grid at high heat for long sessions?

The steel rods will expand and can warp if the grill exceeds normal searing temperatures for extended periods, causing uneven contact with food.
