Questions about this item

How often should the 1836 ignitor gas collector be inspected or replaced on a 720-0163 grill?

Inspect the collector each grilling season for corrosion or blockage; replace it if the ignitor fails to light the burner reliably.

What is the first sign that the 1836 collector is failing during extended cookouts?

Intermittent ignition or a weak flame pattern at the burner ports usually appears before total failure.

Does the 1836 collector get hot enough to cause flare-ups during all-day use?

It sits directly in the burner path so it reaches cooking temperatures, but it is designed to withstand normal grill heat without warping.
