What this valve is and who it fits
The Nibco 58570 is a two-way manual ball valve with a bronze body and chrome-plated brass ball. It uses a full-port design and lever handle for straight-line flow control of air, steam or water in residential and light-commercial plumbing systems.
Check your piping before ordering
Verify that your line uses 1-1/2 inch FNPT threads and that the media pressure will not exceed 600 psi for water, air or steam. The valve is not rated for combustible gas or vacuum service and carries no 3-A sanitary compliance, so confirm those requirements are absent from your installation.
Thermals noise and power draw in normal use
The valve operates without external power so it adds no electrical load or fan noise. Bronze construction handles steam temperatures within the 600 psi rating while the lever handle stays cool enough for manual operation during normal cycling.

Questions about this item
Does the Nibco 58570 valve include any pipe fittings or thread sealant in the box?
The valve is supplied as a single unit with female NPT threads on both ends; no fittings, nipples or sealant are included and must be sourced separately.
Should I choose the 58570 full-port model or a reduced-port version for a 1-1/2 inch line?
This model is a full-port design, meaning the bore matches the nominal 1-1/2 inch pipe size for unrestricted flow; select it when pressure drop must be minimised.
What does the 600 psi rating mean when the valve is installed on a live water main?
The 600 psi figure is the maximum non-shock cold working pressure for water, steam or air; the valve will seal at any pressure up to that limit provided temperature stays within the bronze body's range.
