Reducing Adapter for 1" C to 1-1/4" FNPT
This wrought copper reducing adapter connects a 1 inch nominal copper tube to a 1-1/4 inch FNPT threaded fitting. It is designed for use with air, gases and potable water systems. The sweat connection on the tube side provides a permanent soldered joint for leak-free performance in plumbing installations.
Sweat connection and FNPT threads
The copper tube side uses a sweat fitting that requires soldering during installation, creating a secure permanent bond. The opposite end features female national pipe threads that accept standard male threaded components without additional adapters. Wrought copper construction resists corrosion and handles the specified pressure and temperature ratings for the listed applications.
Verify tube size and thread compatibility
Confirm that your existing copper tubing has a 1 inch nominal size with a 1-1/8 inch outer diameter to match the sweat end. Ensure the mating component uses a 1-1/4 inch male NPT thread for the FNPT side. Check that system operating pressure stays below 351 psi at 200 degrees F and temperature remains under 400 degrees F for safe operation.

Questions about this item
Will the sweat joint on the 1 in copper tube side need re-soldering over time?
A properly soldered cup joint on the 1 in copper tube side is permanent and does not require re-soldering unless the joint was initially defective or the pipe is damaged.
What pressure limit applies first when the adapter runs continuously at 200 Degrees F?
The maximum operating pressure is 351 psi at 200 Degrees F, so that pressure ceiling is the first limit reached under sustained use at that temperature.
Does the copper body get hot enough to burn skin when carrying 200 Degrees F water all day?
Yes, the wrot copper body will reach the fluid temperature of 200 Degrees F, which is well above the threshold for contact burns, so insulation or guarding is advisable.
