Copper 90° elbow for 3 in tube
The Nibco 607 is a wrot-copper 90° elbow with C×C solder ends sized for 3 in nominal tube. It joins two straight copper runs at a right angle in drainage, vent or hydronic piping. Plumbers and mechanical contractors specify it where a compact, permanent change of direction is required. The fitting meets ASME/ANSI B16.22 for dimensional consistency.
Wrot copper construction and solder joints
Wrot copper resists corrosion and handles temperatures from -20 °F to 400 °F at pressures up to 317 psi at 100 °F. The C×C connections are made by cleaning, fluxing and sweating the tube ends, creating leak-tight bonds without threads or gaskets. Once soldered the joint is rigid, so the assembly must be supported and aligned before heating. No mechanical fasteners or sealants are needed after the joint cools.
Pressure and temperature envelope
The 317 psi rating at 100 °F sets the upper bound for hot-water or low-pressure steam service; pressure capacity falls as temperature rises toward the 400 °F limit. The fitting is not rated for gas distribution or high-pressure steam beyond the stated range. Designers must verify that system test pressures and operating cycles stay within the ASME/ANSI B16.22 envelope for 3 in copper tube.

Questions about this item
What does the ASME/ANSI B 16.22 standard cover for this 90-degree C×C elbow?
The ASME/ANSI B 16.22 standard governs wrought copper and copper-alloy solder-joint pressure fittings, ensuring dimensional tolerances and material quality for reliable sweat connections.
What pipe size and copper type does this 3-inch nominal elbow accept?
This fitting accepts 3-inch nominal Type K, L, or M copper tube with a 3-1/8 inch outside diameter for sweat soldering on both ends.
How is the C×C joint made, and what common step causes leaks?
Clean tube ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth, apply flux, assemble, then heat evenly and feed solder until a continuous ring appears; skipping flux or uneven heating causes voids and leaks.
