Nibco, Inc. 60722 1/2" Copper 90 Degree Long Radius Elbow
Copper 90-degree long-radius elbow for sweat connections in air, gas and potable-water lines, rated to 577 psi at 200 °F and 400 °F maximum temperature
- Long-radius 90° sweep reduces flow restriction
- Wrot copper construction handles 577 psi at 200 °F
- Rated for 400 °F continuous operating temperature
- Sweat FTG connections fit ½ in copper tube
- Suitable for air, gas and potable water systems
1/2-Inch Long-Radius Copper Elbow
This 90-degree long-radius elbow connects two 1/2-inch copper tubes in sweat-fitting installations. It is suited for potable water, air and gas lines where a smooth directional change is required. The wrot copper construction meets standard plumbing requirements for residential and light-commercial systems. Builders who need a different angle or a reducing fitting will need another part.
577 PSI at 200 Degrees F Pressure Limit
The fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 577 psi when the fluid temperature is 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Higher temperatures reduce the allowable pressure, so the installer must verify the system design stays within the published curve. The long-radius geometry reduces turbulence but does not change the pressure-temperature boundary. Systems that exceed this envelope require a different class of fitting.
400 Degrees F Temperature Ceiling
The copper alloy withstands continuous exposure up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, providing headroom for hot-water heating and low-pressure steam applications. Above this temperature the material strength drops sharply and the joint integrity cannot be assured. The elbow handles typical hydronic loops comfortably but is not rated for high-temperature steam or industrial process heat beyond the stated limit.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the long-radius or short-radius 90-degree elbow for my 1/2" copper lines?
The long-radius 90-degree elbow provides a smoother flow path with less turbulence and pressure drop than a short-radius version, making it the better choice for potable water, air and gas systems where efficiency matters.
What does the 577 psi rating at 200°F mean for my installation?
It means the wrot copper fitting can safely handle up to 577 psi operating pressure when the fluid temperature is at or below 200°F, covering typical residential and light-commercial hot-water and compressed-air lines.
How does the sweat connection work with 1/2" copper tube?
Each end is a 1/2" FTG socket that slips over 5/8" OD copper tube; you clean, flux and solder the joint to create a permanent, leak-tight seal rated to 400°F maximum temperature.
