Copper Sweat Fitting Elbow
The Nibco 6072LT is a wrot copper 90 degree long radius elbow designed for sweat connection. It joins two 1 1/2 inch nominal copper tubes in air, gas or potable water systems. The fitting side A uses an FTG connection while side B uses a cup connection.
Pressure and Temperature Limits
Maximum operating pressure is rated at 408 psi at 100 degrees F. The fitting withstands temperatures up to 400 degrees F. These limits define the safe envelope for hot water, steam or compressed air lines. Exceeding either value risks joint failure.
Long Radius 90 Degree Bend
The long radius elbow reduces flow restriction and turbulence compared to short radius alternatives. This single geometry factor decides whether the part fits tight copper piping layouts without excessive pressure drop. Builders needing a compact short radius turn should select a different fitting.

Questions about this item
Which size should I choose for a 1 1/2 in copper tube system?
The 6072LT 11/2 model matches 1 1/2 in copper tube size on both ends with a 1 5/8 in outer diameter.
What does the 408 psi rating mean when the fitting is installed?
It indicates the maximum operating pressure at 100 Degrees F for air, gases or potable water service.
How does the sweat connection standard limit the installation?
The FTG by Cup sweat joints require soldering to copper tube, capping use to copper piping systems only.
