2 in x 2 in x 1/2 in Copper Reducing Tee
The NIBCO 611 reducing tee joins three copper tubes in a sweat fitting configuration. Two ends accept 2 inch nominal tube while the branch accepts 1/2 inch nominal tube. It is intended for potable water supply lines in residential or commercial plumbing. The fitting is made from wrot copper for corrosion resistance.
Sweat joint installation limits
Each connection requires a soldered cup joint using flux and lead-free solder rated for potable water. The installer must clean and flux the tube ends and fitting cups before heating. Joint strength depends on proper temperature control and solder flow around the full circumference. No threaded or press-connect alternative is provided by this fitting.
1/2 inch branch size constraint
The reducing branch is fixed at 1/2 inch nominal copper tube size, so the fitting cannot serve larger branch lines without a different tee. Systems needing a 3/4 inch or 1 inch branch must use another fitting. This tee matches only the stated run and branch dimensions.

Questions about this item
Which reducing-tee size matches a 2-inch main with a half-inch branch?
The 611 fitting has two 2-inch cup ends and one 1/2-inch cup end, so it joins a 2-inch copper line to a 1/2-inch take-off.
What does the 2 1/8-inch outer diameter mean when I solder the joint?
Each 2-inch cup accepts tubing with a 2 1/8-inch outside diameter, giving a full-depth sweat connection on the main run.
How does the copper cup design limit the pressure rating in a potable-water system?
Wrot copper cups are rated for standard potable-water pressures; the sweat joint itself becomes the limiting factor once soldered.
