Copper Reducing Tee for Potable Water
This NIBCO 611R reducing tee joins two 2-inch copper tubes to a 1-1/2-inch branch in sweat-fitting installations. Wrought copper construction suits potable water systems in residential and light commercial plumbing. The cup connections on all three ends accept standard copper tube sizes for soldered joints.
2-inch by 1-1/2-inch transition capacity
The fitting handles flow between 2-inch mains and a 1-1/2-inch branch without restricting the larger line. It runs out of capacity when system demand exceeds what the reduced branch can deliver or when pipe sizes outside the listed copper tube dimensions are required.
Sweat-joint thermal performance
Soldered copper joints conduct heat evenly during installation and in service, so the fitting reaches water temperature quickly and operates silently. No external power draw or moving parts are involved, leaving thermal behaviour entirely dependent on the surrounding plumbing system.

Questions about this item
Will the 2 in cup ends join the 2 in copper pipe I already have?
Yes, each 2 in cup is sized for 2 1/8 in tube outer diameter, matching standard 2 in copper pipe.
How can I confirm the 1 1/2 in branch is sealed after soldering?
Pressurise the line and check for leaks at the 1 5/8 in cup joint; a dry joint confirms a proper sweat connection.
Does the box include flux or solder for the sweat joints?
The fitting is supplied alone; flux and solder must be purchased separately.
