Copper Reducing Tee
The NIBCO 611R is a sweat fitting tee made from wrought copper for potable water systems. It connects three copper tubes using cup connections on every side. The run accepts two 3/8 inch copper tube sizes with 1/2 inch outer diameters. The branch reduces to a 5/16 inch copper tube size with a 7/16 inch outer diameter.
Reducing Branch Capacity
This fitting handles standard potable water flow through the 3/8 inch run lines while the smaller branch feeds fixtures needing less volume. It runs out when system pressure exceeds the joint rating of sweat copper connections. The reducing shape saves space compared to adding a separate reducer and coupling.
Sweat Joint Thermals
Normal use involves soldering the cup ends during installation which requires a torch and flux. Once installed the copper body conducts heat away from the joint area quickly. No moving parts generate noise and the fitting draws no power. Copper resists corrosion in potable water without coatings.

Questions about this item
Will the 3/8 in copper tube size ends on this reducing tee connect to my existing 3/8 in copper pipe?
Yes, both 3/8 in ends are designed for sweat connections to standard 3/8 in copper tubing with a 1/2 in outer diameter.
How can I verify the joint is sound after soldering the tee into the line?
Pressurise the system with water and inspect each sweat joint for leaks; a properly soldered cup connection will hold pressure without seepage.
Does the box include solder, flux or any installation tools for the three cup connections?
The fitting is supplied alone; solder, flux and any required tools must be purchased separately.
